The awning leg consists of two sections.
Rv awning tension.
1 lower the awning so the roller tube is as close to the ground as possible.
Give yourself some room.
Now that you are going to re tension the spring it s time to insert it back after you have reinstalled the torsion assembly.
Step up to the awning and clear out any leaves or twigs from the awning seam.
Level the rig using its jacks and level system.
Place the step stool near the lip.
2 the support arm consists of an outer and inner section.
Remove the 2 phillips head screws from the bottom end of the outer section.
When you release the tension in the spring the cotter pin that is inserted in the holes in the awning arms are removed.
Lower the awning completely.
Park the rv and set the brake.
Mine is located at the top of the front of the awning roll.
The tension arms are what you adjust to make the awning taut after it has been lowered.
The cotter pins are the ones that lock the spring tension securely while taking down the rv awning.
