Follow these steps to fix your roof shingles lifting up.

Take off the shingle with the utility knife.
I had a new roof installed at the beginning of october 2007 and i am starting to see several areas where the shingles appear to be lifting up.
You can just apply a dab of roofing cement under the lifting up edge of each one.
Press the shingle down and then secure it with a roofing nail.
So the shingles are like loose and the whole thing is lifting up and flapping in the breeze.
Lift courses or shingles from the asphalt adhesive strip on the course.
Pull out the roofing nails using a flat nail bar.
Apply a generous amount of roof sealant.
Lift the lower edge of the shingle above the damaged shingle enough to access the roofing nails that secure the damaged shingle in place.

Place nails in the three tab shingles about 3 4 inch 1 8 centimeters above the cutouts near where the tab meets the upper part of the shingle.
Cut the opening of the roof sealant at a 45 degree angle.
Repair the shingles along the edge.
The leading edge on the west side of my roof which is about approximately 30 feet of it has been lifting up about 3 feet up onto the roof and i m trying to figure out how i can keep those staying down before they break.

Gently lift up the shingles on the edge of the roof and locate the nails holding the existing drip edge onto the roof.
The original shingles that were on the house were the standard 3 tab asphalt type that needed to be replaced but were still laying pretty flat on the roof.
My house is located in upstate ny and the weather was fairly mild during the actual instillation.
Use a flat pry bar and hammer to pry the nails out of the drip edge gently.
