Sims 3 Wont Let Me Add A Roof

Add a full roof section in the centre to cover the house.

When i turn off the auto roof it doesn t allow me to build a roof on my own. Did i need to move my old furniture in. It keeps saying must be on floor which i dont get cause i am putting them on the floor. One huge annoyance i used to have with putting roofs on a sims house was eaves.

It says you can choose auto roof but when i do that i only get the very front of the roof or the very back of the roof and not the rest. Make sure both pieces are the same width and height so that the ridge capping matches up. Well my sim s goal is to have four kids and i could only fit two in my house so i moved.
